Description

Annually the Nat Turner Library validates and awards Black authors for their literary contributions to Black life, history and culture.  The day begins Saturday at noon with the Authors Showcase, a platform for authors and poets to share their literary works followed by a book signing.  Authors Showcase features guest speaker, New York writer, lyricist and performer Cambatta of Cambatta Music.  A delicious plant-based 'Soul Food' dinner will be served.  The Awards ceremony will begin at 6:00pm.  Co-hosted by Nadirah Khalifah and Angela Khalifah.  

TICKETS: $40 for Adults. $20 for Teens ages 13-19.  FREE Admission for Children 12 & under. Tickets include admission to this full day of events - Authors Showcase, Dinner and Awards Ceremony.  This year's theme is:  "Celebrating 400 Years of Freedom Fighters Resistance (1619-2019)".  Your ticket donation will aid in our goal to FREE THE LAND from the bondage of its mortgage by August 21, 2019, to coincide with our Nat Turner Day celebration in honor of his historic slave revolt!
