Due to inclement rainy weather this week on the land, the 27th & 28th Annual Black Books Achievement Awards weekend has been rescheduled from its original date of June 5th & 6th to June 26th and 27th. As this is an OUTDOOR TENT EVENT the Nat Turner Library has implemented its RAIN DATE. We look forward to your joining us this year! If you are unable to take the pilgrimage in person, Virtual Tickets are available for $18.31 for online viewing of the Authors Showcase and Awards Ceremony.
Annually the Nat Turner Library validates and awards Black authors for their literary contributions to Black life, history and culture. The day begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with a Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Nat Turner Library. A 10:00 a.m. departure for the Nat Turner Mobile War Trail Tour followed by the Authors Showcase at 1:00p.m. that is a platform for authors, performance artists and poets to share their literary works followed by a book signing. At 5:00 p.m. a delicious plant-based 'Soul Food' dinner by Magical Kitchen will be served followed by the Awards ceremony.
TICKETS: $40 for Adults. $20 for Teens ages 13-19. FREE Admission for Children 12 & under. Tickets include admission to this full day of events - Groundbreaking, Mobile Trail Tour, Authors Showcase, Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
