UPDATE: We are happy to announce that this year's annual 27th-28th BLACK BOOKS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS will be merged with the NAT TURNER DAY event this year which will be celebrated on Saturday August 21st. This is an OUTDOOR TENT EVENT for NAT TURNER LIBRARY MEMBERS ONLY. We look forward to your joining us this year! Annually the Nat Turner Library validates and awards Black authors for their literary contributions to Black life, history and culture. The day begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with a Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Nat Turner Library. A 10:00 a.m. departure for the Nat Turner Mobile War Trail Tour followed by the Authors Showcase at 1:00p.m. that is a platform for authors, performance artists and poets to share their literary works followed by a book signing. Guests will enjoy a delicious plant-based 'Soul Food' dinner by Magical Kitchen followed by the Awards ceremony and guest speaker.
TICKETS: $40 for Adults. $20 for Teens ages 13-19. FREE Admission for Children 12 & under. Tickets include admission to this full day of events - Groundbreaking, Mobile Trail Tour, Authors Showcase, Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
