Description

Annually the Nat Turner Library validates and awards Black authors for their literary contributions to Black life, history and culture.  On Saturday June 4th our day begins with our AUTHOR"S SHOWCASE, a platform for authors, performance artists and poets to share their literary works followed by a book signing.  Guests will enjoy a delicious plant-based 'Soul Food' dinner by Magical Kitchen followed by the AWARDS CEREMONY featuring a guest speaker.

On Sunday, June 5th there will be a BLACK WRITERS BUSINESS MEETING FOR THE BLACK PUBLISHING INDUSTRY, a symposium hosted by Elder H. Khalif Khalifah, 'The Father of Independent Black Publishing.'  This is part 2 of the Black Book Awards (for Authors, Writers and Publishers).  Following this meeting guests will depart for the NAT TURNER MOBILE WAR TRAIL TOUR and return to the land for a plant-based lunch prepared by Magical Kitchen.
