Ancestors Remembrance Day

The Nat Turner Library hosts a day of commemoration of Nat Turner's transition on November 11, 1831, honoring Nat Turner and the Ancestors for their legacy of freedom. This year's celebration on Thursday November 11, 2021, is an OUTDOOR TENT EVENT on the grounds of the Nat Turner Library. The day starts at 11:00 a.m. with meet-up and opening meditation. 12:00 Noon departure (caravan) for the NAT TURNER MOBILE WAR TRAIL TOUR led by Sr. Tour Guide and Founder, Elder Khalifah and son Ibn Khalifah (12 pm - 3 pm), followed by a delicious plant-based dinner, African drumming, cultural vendors, and an informative lecture with annual guest speaker Dr. Umar Ifatunde Johnson. Tickets are $40 for Adults. Teens (13-19) $20, and children 12 & under FREE admission (Ticket Includes mobile tour, plant-based meal and lecture). Thank you for your support of this national landmark honoring the spirit of Freedom Fighter Nat Turner and ALL of the Ancestors who fought, bled and transitioned for freedom, justice and equality for the generations ahead.
